Barrie's Berlin Blog no. 2

Barrie Millett Chapter Vice Chairman

Monday 26th March

Yet another bright and sunny day here in Berlin greeted all the delegates at the start of what promised to be another successful European Conference. Some 500 delegates are in attendance from various backgrounds and countries such as Canada, USA, Mexico, Indonesia, UK, France, Germany, Russia and South Africa to name but a few giving the event a truly Global feel.

Following the formal opening of the conference the day was packed with an informative program with sessions ranging from “Integrating Security into a company Going Global” “Eyes on Security in China” and “Aligning Security with Best Practices in Risk Management”.

Chapter Officers Training

The chapter officers training session in the early evening proved to be very rewarding for the UK Chapter.

At the start of the session a number of awards were presented including the “Chapter Newsletter of the Year Honourable Mention” to the UK Chapter which was accepted by Barrie Millett on behalf on the UK Chapter Media Committee who have worked hard to put together a fantastic Newsletter.

Peter French was also presented with an award for all his efforts and leadership as SRVP. Congratulations to you all.

Any day at the European Conference would not be complete without an evening with friends and colleagues enjoying the Berlin food and beer.
