ASIS UK - Appoint 'Convergenge Lead'

ASIS International is committed to being a leader in the filed of security convergence both internationally and in the UK.

To this end ASIS Chapter 208 (United Kingdom) is pleased to announce James Willison has agreed to join the main UK Chapter 208 Committee as "Convergence Lead".

James is passionate about this area and has already been pivotal in early discussions in the UK with ISSA regarding ASIS’s involvement with the Information Security Awareness Forum.
Chapter Chairman, Barrie Millet says “I believe this is a major strategy which both the Chapter and the security industry will benefit from. We are looking at various ways in which ASIS can work with ISSA in the future”.

James Willison joined ASIS in April 2003 and has been working in the Physical Security Industry for 14 years. Since starting his work on a diploma project with BP Group Security in 2002 he has seen the importance of convergence and worked closely with global security leaders from the traditional and digital arena. He was also awarded a Master’s degree from Loughborough University for his research on, “The case for the Integration of Corporate Physical and IT security.”

In November 2007 James began working with IT Security leaders from ISACA UK and ISSA UK to consider ways in which ASIS UK can develop and strengthen the links between the various security organisations. He has been representing ASIS UK on the newly formed Information Security Awareness Forum, which will play a key role in the raising of Information Security awareness in the UK.
