Security Management NOS - Update

Dear Colleagues

Further to my recent email we write to confirm that the draft suite of NOS for Security Management is now available for further industry consultation on our website and can be found in the NOS section along with an explanation of NOS and a questionnaire for comment. (http://www.skillsforsecurity.org.uk/nos2.asp) .

Notification has also been provided to The Security Institute, IISec, RSMF and IPSA. If there is any other professional associations you would like the NOS to be available to then please forward any contact details by return.

The consultation period with industry will be over the next four weeks and ends on 30th October when all feedback, including Steering Group feedback, will be collated and acted upon, as appropriate. At this time we may need to refer back to the Expert Group for clarification and comment before amending the NOS as a ‘’proposed suite’. Once the ‘proposed suite’ is prepared this will be sent to you during early November, as a Steering Group member, along with a Summary of Change for your perusal.

At this point we will request a Letter of Support for the NOS from you, and the organisation you represent. In order to assist you with this request a template letter will be forwarded, for your use if required with a ‘return by date’. This letter is an essential part of being a Steering Group member and your support will reflect the support of industry UK wide.

In order to submit the NOS for final approval to SSDA it is a contractual requirement that we evidence UK wide support and I can only stress the importance of this part of the project.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact either myself or the Standards Development Team.

Kind Regards

Mike Burke
